The coexistence of cats and humans lasts longer than 4,000 years. During these millennia, cats were loved and worshiped as goddesses, but also persecuted and cursed as evil creatures or harbingers of misfortune.
They were bred by kings and rulers of empires, writers like Hemingway or Mark Twain, scientists like Isaac Newton, politicians - W. Churchill and many others.
I used to play with them as a child, and even now I have two cats near the house. I admire their personality, especially their freedom, independence and ability to survive.
I have depicted the cat motif in several of my sculptures and I know that they bring joy and pleasure to their owners.
