Story about the painting:
"The title of the painting The Pyramid expresses the symbolism of human growth, development and progress in life.
In the painting, it is expressed by the arrangement of the figures in a pyramid-shaped triangle, the silhouette of the building in the background and the stairs leading up.
Because our life is like a pyramid. At its beginning, we are down and we should be heading up, forward. However, this is often not the case. Many of us stop somewhere in the middle and do not reach the top. Although they could, because each of us has the potential for that.
The individual characters in the painting express the attitudes of different people towards this topic.
The young woman on the left with her hands on her head expresses an overly distrustful and cautious attitude towards the opportunities that life brings.
The seated figure is skeptical and apathetic and tends to rest in place.
The two figures standing on the right turn their backs on the opportunities and challenges of life, and because of this either do not notice them or consciously ignore them.
The highest-placed figure in the painting, the only one already standing on the stairs leading up, seems to be a relatively self-confident woman. You can see from the look on her face that she is thinking about her steps and is smart enough to know which way to move next. The face also expresses a positive attitude towards life.
It is a positive attitude towards life together with will, determination and a prudent approach that is a prerequisite for our growth and progress towards the top of the pyramid of our life."
